		Hematite Today hematite is thought to aid in concentration and focusing, boosting self-esteem and confidence. It is thought to dissolve negativity and support women who are timid.  It is also used to eliminate leg cramps and cleanse the blood.   The name hematite is from the Greek hamia, meaning “blood” It was worn in ancient Egypt as an amulet to stop bleeding. 		Jet Early man regarded jet as having talismanic power. It was strung into necklaces and bracelets to be worn next to the skin for the greatest effect.   Called “black amber during the 1500s, it was used for special rosaries. Today it is thought to aid in fighting mood swings and depression by absorbing negative energy. It is associated with the zodiac sign Capricorn.

		Onyx The history of onyx goes back as far as the breastplate of the high priest of the Israelites. Described in Exodus xxviii, 15-30, the breastplate contains onyx in the fourth row of twelve stones representing the twelve tribes Israel.   Originally thought to cool the ardors of love if worn around the neck, today it attributed with promoting wise decisions and building self-confidence. It is associated with the zodiac sign of Aquarius and Leo.
